Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 304, St. Luke Parish, Glenside, PA.
Like all Scouting units, Pack 304 is a chartered organization of the Boy Scouts of America. Our Chartered Organization is St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, Glenside, PA, and our Executive Officer is Fr. Joseph Brandt, Pastor. We are located in the Washington District (eastern Montgomery County) of the Cradle of Liberty Council (which covers Philadelphia, Montgomery County and Delaware Counties).
Our Pack meets from September to April/May, with Den and Pack meetings occurring on Wednesday nights in Fr. Fitzpatrick Hall, located under the Church. Tiger, Wolf and Bear Dens meet from 6:30-7:30 PM; Webelos Scouts (4th and 5th grades) from 7:30-8:30.
In a typical year, we camp 2-3 times (Fall, Spring, and possibly an indoor sleepover). Recently, we have camped at Ft. Washington State Park, Camp Garrison, Camp Delmont, Camp Melmar, French Creek State Park. In 2016, we will camp at Alverthorpe Park in Jenkintown.
In addition to camping, we plan events such as The Pinewood Derby, a campfire at Alverthorpe Park (Abington), visits to local police and fire stations and several service projects, including clean-ups at Grove Park in Glenside and St. Luke Church and Scouting for Food.
In 2013, 2014 and 2015, our Pack was recognized by the Cradle of Liberty Council as a Gold Unit, as measured by the Council’s Journey to Excellence criteria. JTE is a metric used by the Council to certify that units are offering quality Scout programming and doing the proper planning to maintain the success of the unit.
We thank you for taking the time to check us out and hope you will consider joining us!
